Apron stage, also known as thrust stage or platform stage, is a type of theater stage that projects out from the main stage into the audience. This design allows for a more intimate and immersive theatrical experience, as the actors are closer to the audience. There are a few other synonyms for this type of stage, including promenade stage, voms stage and runway stage. These stages may differ slightly in their design or layout, but they all share the same quality of bringing the actors closer to the audience and allowing for a more engaging theatrical experience.
