Monggo is a Filipino word for mung beans, a popular legume that's used in many dishes. There are several synonyms for the word "monggo" depending on the region. In some parts of the Philippines, it's called "balatong," while in others, it's referred to as "munggo," "mung," or "frijol mungo."
