Cash on Delivery (COD) is a common payment method in which payment is made at the time of delivery of goods or services. There are several other synonyms for the term COD, such as "pay on delivery", "collect on delivery" and "cash on receipt". Another term used for this payment method is "cash against documents", where a buyer needs to pay only when the documents related to the purchase are received. "Pay upon pickup" is another synonym where payment is made at the time goods are picked up by the buyer. In some cases, the term "postpay" is also used synonymously with COD where payment is made after the delivery.
